Best premium washing machines UK 2026
The best washing machines over £650 — ranked by WAC Score across reliability, efficiency, features and value. Every pick is A-rated for energy. Running costs at the July 2026 Ofgem rate of 26.11p per kWh.
The best premium washing machine is the AEG LFSR7414U6UD at £849 — our top WAC Score of 92, with efficiency at 92 and value at 95, the highest in the band. For outright dependability the LG F4X5013TBB posts a reliability score of 91 — the highest figure we publish for any machine — with a 13kg drum for £711. Worth knowing before you spend: machines under £400 reach the same top score of 92, so above £650 you are buying build, capacity and running costs rather than a higher mark. Our premium value guide sets out what the extra outlay actually returns.
How we chose these
Every currently available freestanding machine at £650 and above — 33 of them — ranked on WAC Score, colour variants collapsed. Ties break on the underlying raw score, then price. No more than two machines from any one brand. Machines whose energy figures are missing from our data are held back until they can be verified, rather than ranked on an incomplete record.
